Shopping and restaurants in Cairns have improved markedly in the last few years in both quality and variety. When you've satisfied your appetite for food it's time to experience the shopping in Cairns in Australia's tropical north. It goes without saying that souvenirs, as well as local and fine aboriginal art, are readily available in this region. There are also a number of markets for the bargain hunter, including the Esplanade's night markets, as well as Rusty's for local produce and wares.

If you're after something a bit more special, Cairns central has North Queensland's only Myer, as well as a variety of other retail shops. The Pier, Orchid Plaza and Cairns city centre also have a variety of fashion, jewellery, duty free and prestige brand stores to help you spend your money.
